its been 4 moths now since i had mastectomy./ reconstruction taken from my back on the same day ,,,,, leading up to the opp months before i had 3 opps to find clear margin,, none was found hence the mastecomy ,,, i was diagnosed with dcis,,,,, but lots of it ,,,,,,,all pre cancer,,, but my problem is that going thro al tose months of surgery not once was my blood pressure high,,,,now months sfter my blood pressure has shot up to 150/101,,,,, my doc put me on different bllod pressure tablets has i have taken them for years,,, but its always been under control,,,,my question is ,is it cos i have been thro all this upset thats brought this on,,,, has anyone else had any bother with their blood pressure,,, otherwise i am fine,,,, reconstruction went well,,,althgough they are still draining fluid frm my back ,,,,they want the fluid to make its own way back into my body but it hasnt appened yet,,,,,
Before dx I had low blood pressure, I was given meds but it lower it so much I was ill.
Now I avoid stress as much as I can and there is nothing to be done about doc visits.
Your surgery was a mayor shock for your body, it is an amputation, it is normal one gets upset,it is not easy.
I wish that when they say breast cancer do not think about a pink ribbon and that is like braking a nail.
You like all of us we need to recoup, and I can tell you as a long term survivor, I am in fear when I go for follow ups.
