My friend just had surgery and the cancer was in all the breast lymph nodes. What's the best way to show caring and concern now. How can I help?

It really helped when my friends bought me flowers, made a point of spending time with me to distract me, made food, told me how it sucked, offered to go to appointments, and one friend called each day to check in with me.
Sometimes just listening and letting a friend have a good cry is the best gift. So sorry about your friend , it is terrifying to be told news like this.

Hi Cheppie. I had a partial radical mastectomy almost a year ago. I found it most helpful when my friends and family would come visit me while I was recovering. I needed the distraction, not only because I was sore, but I was limited as to what I could do. People would always call, text, or email me to see how I was doing. Knowing people cared so much really helped me through it.
