Breast Cancer to Thyroid Cancer

Diagnosed with breast cancer in May. I just finished 6 rounds of Chemo about 6 weeks ago. I started week 4 of my radiation treatments today. My doctor did a routine exam of my thyroid and said it felt enlarged. She ordered a sonogram and discovered I have two nodules. One the size of a peanut. Had a fine needle asp. and dr. said biopsy report says it looks cancerous. Trying to wrap my brain around this news. Has anyone ever experienced having two cancers in such a short time span?

I know of two ladies with ovarian, diagnosed during their BC chemo treatment.
Are you going to have radiactive treatment for the tyroid?
I know several people that had this cancer and are doing great.
I can imagen how shocking must have been with a second diagnose that soon.

Right now I really don't know. I made an appointment with a thyroid specialist and spoke with my radiation Oncologist. She said the report is not definitely saying cancer, but the way the cells look it is something to look into. She also said the cells may look different because the area being radiated for breast cancer is very close to the thyroid , but if the nodule was taken out and closely looked at it
could be something totally different. Anyway I'm feeling a little better. I feel emotionally spent after hearing the cancer word again.
