***Hey run around the block once or twice for me too.....***
if you weren't so busy with school I'd chase ya around the block once or twice with a cooking spoon, just for the fun of it ;)
way to go JASG
I've been doing my own hardcore thing (well, hardcore for me) for the last 3 months. And I'm right there with ya, I haven't felt this good in over 20 years. Well, except my thigh, today, the physio-terrorist damn near killed me last night. But the rest of me feels good!
Physical activity that gets ya breathing heavy, is supposed to help everybody, but I'm thinkin especially divorcees :)
Matter of fact I take an ibuprofen with a banana 30 or so minutes before working out and ice the right knee for 15 minutes or so after I cool down.
As far as hardcore Joy, I'm definitely not ramping it up just yet. I'd really like to get some good core work in, but I don't think my knee is ready for it just yet. Absolutely no power cleans, squats or deadlifts just yet!!! I'm doing some light chest, shoulder and arm work on the bench, situps and crunches on an inclined bench and lots of leg extensions and leg curls for the quads and hammies.
I work with a trainer every second day, and do cardio on my own every day in between. I've never been a runner, but one of my goals is a mini marathon in the fall.
I thought I had a bad knee, but it turns out I just need physio on the muscles and tendons...hence the torture last night.
Too bad we can't do a DS fitness meetup. Might be fun :)
I wouldn't be surprised if there are some more in attendance we haven't heard about yet :)
Hehehehe and JASG is just across town from me...maybe I can talk him into visiting the ninja octagon where I get my arse whooped by my trainer. Free entertainment, none the less :)
I'd go...on a Sunday ;)
Run, Run Away......
(and I need to after posting that....)
When I get back in shape I'll start with push sit-ups. Your trainer would probably burn me at the cross for that one!
And yeah, can't forget aerobics. Stretching/agility Mon-Friday in the morning, resistance Mon, Wed & Fri evening, aerobic Tue, Thur, Sat & Sun evening.
Oh, and I did earn an orange belt in Taekwondo many moons ago. The next step was a black belt program and at the time I just didn't have the available time to do it justice.
http://tillman-mma.com/ my second home :)
Now, my brain exercises more than my body. Crazy life.
