amazing
I think we get stuck in patterns of thought. That shapes our worldview, how we feel and how we act and react. The longer we are in a certain thought pattern, the more it reinforces itself, becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Maybe start each day with a few minutes of positive affirmations? Repeat them to yourself throughout the day? When negativity creeps in particularly strong, try this:
Sit down. Relax. Take a few slow and deep breaths. In and out. Then inhale slowly and deeply, saying to yourself "Let". Then exhale slowly, saying to yourself "Go'. Repeat this several times.
If you find this brings an amount of calmness back, try repeating several positive affirmations to yourself.
Make it a daily habit. Stick to it. Everything starts with our thoughts. They mold our reality. Start to reshape your thoughts. Your way of processing negative thoughts and thinking of yourself in a more positive way.
Hope it helps.
P.S. I meditate at night, but I also have a routine to relax myself prior to attaining a meditative mind. I also use the same technique every morning, even though I don't follow-up with meditation.
I seat myself, close my eyes and take a few slow and deep breaths. Then I start with my feet. I inhale and focus on concentrating my energy, chi if you will, there. Then I slowly exhale, release the chi and all the tension in my feet. Then I repeat with the ankles, then calves, knees, thighs, etc... all the way to my head.
Then I repeat the process two or three times for my entire body. I find it totally drains all the tension out of my muscles, leaving me amazingly relaxed.
After surviving that climb, and especially the boards & chains, I bet a cup of anything tastes amazingly good! :-)
Me, I like green tea with some honey and a lemon wedge. I do like my coffee too, but just the Plain Jane store brand Arabic medium roast with a touch of half & half. ;-)
