My ex and I dated for two years and just recently broke up, and we haven't talked at all. He can never acknowledge or be responsible for his actions because he was COMPULSIVE liar. He lied about everything from what he told his friends to what he ate. He always blamed me for everything when I caught him in a lie. He always fabricated to people to sound cool and I always called him out on it. I'm sure it seemed like I was his mom because he acted so immature for a 22 year old. The truth always killed him. Do people like this ever have any remorse? I'm hurting so bad that he can't acknowledge what he did wrong. I know it's for the better but I can't stop thinking about him.

I dont have experience with a compulsive liar, but my Ex who cheated several times has no remorse.. all her apologies were concluded with "But.."
she's only sorry that I finally let her go and kept her out, and she is sorry she was caught... but she's not sorry for hurting me.

move on and find someone better, 2 years isn't all that long, be grateful it ended quickly and didn't turn into a 10 year drama like mine.

I'm sorry your hurting. It's a hard thing to wonder but that is not likely that he will feel remorse. What you need to do is say it doesn't matter weather he is or not! He did what he did and YOU deserve better bottom line. I had a compulsive liar to the point he wasn't lying was when he was passed out even then he talked in his sleep. You will be okay as time goes on nothing matters about them. Keep busy and keep coming here. Your far from alone. In the end I know from experience the truth always comes out. :-)

Thank you guys for the support! Even though I know the situation was bad and it was best for us to part ways, its so hard especially around the holidays to not think about what we should be doing. I keep waiting for him to maybe call and say sorry, and tell me I was the best things he's ever had. But I don't think that will happen. I wish I coudl stop thinking about us 24/7. After I told his parents what a liar he was I don't think we'll ever talk again.

well, I know what you mean... My relatiionship of 3 years ended as of 6 months ago.........time still goes on for him.
His family and the ones who know him ....know how they are........you know .... he and yours is not fooling anyone....Not Even THEMSELVES.

I was married to a major liar. And I have NO expectations that he will ever feel any remorse -he is what he is, and that is a great big liar. Every time I caught him lying, he would promise to never lie again, very dramatically sometimes *yawn*, only to lie again. Compulsive liars just can't do any better. Forget about him asap.
