Here is the text message I got from STBX after I texted him asking him about the money he owes me.
(Mind you, he is paying me $500 a month to "buy" me out of my share of the house. This is the money I am talking about.)

Soon. by next week. i realize u need it and i appreciate ur patience. j (our son) school is paid til 11th Em (our daughter) school is almost paid off. just paid credit card. i will give u $ 4 ur trip also.

What the hell am I supposed to do with this?
He did call to find out if I got the text and I said yes. He was waiting for a reply. So I say to him, "what do you want me to do? I have to wait, right? You dont have the money, so I have no choice!"

This just burns me to no end. This man who is 9 months late on mortgage, tuitions, bills, IRS, and he cant afford to pay me so I can take care of the kids. And he VOLUNTEERS for the fire department! WTF!?!?!?! I just dont get it.

Could someone please explain this to me?

I just dont know what to do.
I did file for divorce, but am waiting for the papers to be served. Until then, I guess I have to wait for him to pay me?

So frusterating!!!!!

not sure what state do you live in? that may help you get advice.. I am from cda so it is totally different.. but what about pawn his assets to get you some money, selling his car and let him buy a jalopy? telling him to get a roommate.... etc

Thanks mycherub, but talking sense to him is like talking to a brick wall. He knows everything and doesnt want to be told what to do. It will just make him call me those names again, and it will be all my fault.

BTW, I live in MD.

Oh how I feel your pain. See my post ughhhhhhhhh. Once he's served, you go to court and get a temporary order. Hopefully he'll behave then, because a Judge is watching his sorry ass. Mine did.

Until then you have to do what you have to do. I borrowed from Family and maxed out a couple credit cards. Big hug and hang on you'll get through but I know how damn hard it is.

I know the feeling I'm waiting on my support money now. He works under the table so that can't garnish his check. Month to month and I never know if he's going to give it to me.

Hand raised. Have not seen one dollar since he split our bank account (And I had to beg for a month before he gave me my half of that). I'm unemployed because I had to move across state, he makes a lot of money and has our car and all of our assets. We're working out a settlement, but he just can't understand why I don't trust him to make monthly payments. Jeez, where do I start on the reasons why I shouldn't trust him???

I'm sorry for your frustration, I know this bloody sucks. But thank god you filed already and he'll be under orders to pay you soon. Patience, virtue- yadda,yadda,yadda.
