While I was on vacation, my boyfriend worked on my snowblower. He had to get a few parts, and he looked at heavier duty snowblowers.
The one my ex left me is ok for an inch or so, but for some reason we've been getting 10" at a time, so he has had to borrow my neighbor's snowblower.
So, new snowblower. I take care of my neighbors when I can, so yes, I needed it.
What was funny, while I was paying for it, the salesman asked me if I knew so and so. It was my ex, he had been in the store getting parts a few days before.
My boyfriend wished we had gone then. He hates my ex. He witnessed how my ex treated me, and still treats me, and he just wants to rub it in how he treats me. I try to be neutral for my 16 yr old son, but even he is coming around, and spends more time with me. I think he's realizing how happy I am, and his father isn't. I have kept in touch with his family, and they don't even know what's up.
Through the divorce, I lost friends, but also gained friends. My neighbors and I didn't get along before the divorce, now they are like parents. My parents passed many years ago, so it's nice to rely on them.
Anyway, what are the chances my ex and I stop in the same store to buy something. And, what are the chances the sales person recognized my last name, rattled off my ex's address, and didn't realize he only lives a block from me.

I'm just relieved he wasn't actually there when you walked in.
If it were me I'd be upset for days afterward.

While I have no problem seeing my ex, my boyfriend just wan'ts to rub things in his face. I have never been that way, and maybe that's why I stayed in an abusive marriage so long. I stayed for my children until I couldn't take it anymore.
I think my ex regrets moving only a block away, but at least he gave up the idea of living next door.
I also think that his reasons for moving where he did was going to piss me off. He wanted me to give back my engagement/wedding rin - which I paid for (he had no money), and argued in court that he didn't feel it was right that I kept his last name. I kept my last name for my children, I kept my rings because I paid for them.
I am not going to be his victim anymore.
