Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.

My ex thinks I'm a "selfish B" as well. I know nothing I ever did or will do will cause him to think otherwise. I know that the evidence of my character points to me being relatively unselfish, giving and caring. I have enough people in my life who appreciate me for who I am. That's enough for me. But during and just after my divorce I felt like I had a scarlet letters on my shirt, a B (bitch), L (loser), D (divorcee). A lot of social connections just dropped to the floor. I think other married people were too uncomfortable to be near the D. They didn't care to look beyond that. Maybe they feel divorce is contagious or they don't want to examine their own marriages. Whatever. Now one year post divorce, I don't think about them much or miss them. Give yourself time, you'll feel people's stinging words about you hurt less and less as you get to a more peaceful existence. :)
Now suddenly stbx wants to try counseling.... I now struggle again if I should do that (I feel like I have wasted so much time already. So does that mean I am that evil bitch???
I want a secluded cabin far away from everyone.
No counseling. Press forward with what you know is right. Hugs.
He was doing the pass the buck thing, so he could "say" he asked you for counseling.
Been there, done that. You know his intentions aren't genuine.
Stbx has told HIS SISTER a month or so ago he would be willing to try counseling... but he never did tell me.... Til this morning.. I kinda think nothing is ever going to change. All the talking til I am blue in the face gets a change for two days. by the third it is "Well, you know how I am "
I just told someone else to not let her SO ridicule, hurt , ignore , and take her for granted.... pretty much replacing her joy and contentment with pain, anger and resentment. Hmmmm.... perhaps wise words???
Point being: When someone posts something that hits you the wrong way, just think to yourself, "You must be in a rough spot to feel the urge to write such things in a support group. I promise to give your comment all the consideration it deserves."
It's a simple truth: Sometimes divorce is the best course of action. Stay the course.
Thanks everyone for the kid words and much needed feedback. :)
