I am yet to understand why people tell their partners, either short or long term in a relationship, that they feel they are in love when they clearly are not.
Or, the love they feel is a moment. When that moment passes (usually after they hear back that they are loved too), everything changes.
Why someone can show so much interest, be romantic and kind, only to see the behavior change so fast - at times as fast as they are shown they are loved as well.
Have you experienced something like this only to see that the partner became so cold after you told them you love them?
Can love be just a moment and not a constant?

My friend recently went through a breakup. She was questioning where the relationship was going (starting to see red flags she didn't like). She expressed her feelings--told the guy she loved him. He was honest with her and said he didn't know if he could ever reciprocate. A day or two later, he broke up with her.
With many of the guys I'm meeting, they all want to "play house" with all the benefits of having a wife, but they don't want the emotional attachment.
I guess you should know what love is before you tell them you will love them forever.
