I stopped worrying how long it would take to heal
And how far down bottom was
It takes the time it takes and bottom is down there somewhere
Don't get too jammed on what is normal recovery time etc
I hope it gets better. I just wanted to say I know how you feel in the morning. Its the worst time for me as well.
I am fighting the same fight, it has been 10 weeks since my wife of 13 years and together for 19 up and walked out on me. It hurts me just writing this but life does go on.
Go through your emotions, don't fight them, if you have to cry, cry, you have to be angry, get angry, some day you don't feel anything, don't. Like refurb has said, do not put timelines yourselves or where you are at. It will take time to heal.
What has helped me the most is journaling, everytime I have an emotion, felling good or bad I write it down.
Wishing you all the best during these tough times.
Once I "accepted" he was done and gone, it helped me take that first giant step towards healing. And I have to say this only happened a couple of weekends ago, it was like a light bulb went off and I clearly KNEW he was gone. It was really a freeing moment for me and I was able to go NC for the last time (we don't have kids together) Although I just had a blue weekend and shed a few tears for him it didn't take me down like it normally did!!!!!!!! Finally.
Don't worry about how long it takes, our goal here is to heal, support and be supported and let life take us where it takes us. Take all the time you need, it's the only way to get through this.
Hugs
This morning's pain was more about the feelings of being discarded.
I can assume that most people on this forum are generally good people. If you were the adulterers, spouse abusers, and narcissists that ruin people's lives, you wouldn't care enough to be on this site. So, if your reading this you are going through a divorce and have generally tried to be a good spouse, tried hard to make your marriage work and tried to provide for your family. However, we are not perfect. I know I've not been a perfect husband, but I've always tried to do the right thing and make sure my family wanted for nothing.
Now your spouse is telling you she doesn't want you anymore. Doesn't want the love you have given or the things you have provided. That sucks.
I sometimes hear her talking on the phone to her family about her plans for a new house, a new job, or the guy at school who's starting to pay more attention to her since he heard she was getting a divorce. There is excitement in her voice. She's excited because she's moving on to "something better" and leaving me behind.
But it's all about perception, isn't it? The grass certainly looks greener. I'm a good person and I have a lot to offer to the universe. If your reading this, the same is probably true about you, because you care enough to grieve and seek support and offer support in return. I think we each need to look for our new place in this universe, and leave the past behind.
Yes, I'm being replaced, but the person I was compatible with doesn't exist anymore.
Joe, my ex has seemingly moved on, and it's only been five months. One problem I have is comparing my insides to her outside...which makes me feel even worse for grieving as deeply as I am while she seems just fine. I need to remember that a lot of her behavior is an act.
Yes, we are all good people here...and we will go on to love again.
19 years down the toilet
But two years later, although I still have some signs of PTSD ....I have a woman who totally loves and appreciates me for me
I have a bright future with her....and I am enjoying my daily life interests, passions....can read again and feel present without always thinking about my EX
My Divorce was finalized a week ago and I feel Relief to be rid of her...As I know now that she was not worthy of the honour of being my wife.
I told her I deserve better and now truly believe it
and truly believe I have someone better
I am angry for such betrayal...and all the damage that she caused me....and that may always be there
But I can now live in the present
And feel excitement about my future
You guys can get there.....The road is a nightmare...but there is hope
