Tired of getting child sick

For at least the past month, everytime my 15 yr old is home, he's always sick.

I scramble to get Dr. appt's that fit his schedule, run to get med's ----- and then start asking him "Were you sick at dad's?" The answer is always yes, and why does he wait for my time to take care of him?

I'm tired, literally - heard him coughing all night - of having him when he's sick.

Anyone else have this problem?

Could it be a symptom of stress or allergies? Has he been taken for a medical evaluation?

Could also be something he's allergic to at the house, which spawns him getting sick.

I'd definitely pass on to the doctor, this consistency.

Was thinking an allergy too...or is it psychosomatic from being shuffled from one house to another for attention. Just a thought there, if you give him more attention, than say his dad. My kids know how to play the game, but I would have him checked out by a specialist.

I think the issue is why isn't dad taking him for appointments. Kid is sick over there he just waits til he is home to deal with it. Kids kinda expect mom to make it all better. When your son was young it was likely you that did it all, and it's just still expected of you.

It's the opposite here. My tolerance for letting the kids just be sick and letting their own systems fight things off is WAY higher then their father's. Also, my kids have to be really, really, REALLY in need of antibiotics, before I'm ok with them getting them.

My ex got my son on antibiotics one time....and let's say that I wasn't happy about it.

Thankfully my kids are almost never sick now. Maybe once a year or something....
