I have recently broken up with my boyfriend. It started out as a long distance relationship, then he moved in with me. Throughout our relationship there were many discrepancies to what he said, and it just didn't make sense for example, him having 2 children and them both passing away while we together in the first 5 months. Then his father passing. he was sick all the time.
During the time we were together I found pictures on his cell phone from another girl he was talking to and discovered that she was in love with him and he was planning on going to meet her. When I confronted him about it, he said it was his cousin's girlfriend, and other lies. Then he finally admitted that he had been talking to her, but he wasn't planning on going and meeting her. That it was all on her part, however I did not believe him.
Jealousy was another big problem in our relationship. He was jealous of all my guy friends. He checked my text messages, and I guess while I was at work, he would be checking my emails. He did not like my brother and got into a few diasagreements with him. It also seemed that he was trying to turn me against my family, however that never worked because I have such a strong bond with my family. He always wanted to be around me 24/7 and wanted to always do things together.
At the end of October he got "sick" like he usually did throughout our relationship and I told him it was time to go home. One was he did not have coverage out here, two I couldn't take the stress anymore.
I thought that I had dealt with this break-up and was doing fine and was accepting that it was over. And I was glad to be out of this relationship, and away from him. I was actually happy. I had a very tragic summer. He was very supportive through it all, and was very helpful. Despite all the bad things he had some very good qualities. He was very different in the end then he was in the begining.
I was over him until he added me on facebook and discovered that he has another girlfriend and they are supposedly "engaged"
I do not want to be with, but I am very angered by him. He told me he will think about getting back together with me, if I get help and get better.
Please give me some insight.
I'm too ashamed and embarrased to reach out to friends and family by this. I feel like a fool for believing his lies. I know I will get over it, but I just don't know right now.

why would you even talk to him if he is engaged? why would you even want to be with someone like that, especially when you say you are angry about this? seems like a no brainer. stay away from him. stay busy with your own life, job, school, volunteering, goals for your new life and you will soon see how wonderful your life is without this drain on you. best of luck.
I feel really sorry for this next girl. She must be on-top-of-the-world with just getting engaged. She's got no clue what she's in for. I would never even Consider talking to another guy about a life together if I'd just gotten engaged.
All it shows is that your bank account is probably better than this next girl.
I don't know how people live with themselves like that....I really don't.
As for missing "him", you're really not. You're missing what you were feeling like when you were with him. And if it was in you to feel like that with him.....then it's in you to feel like that by yourself.

I am thankful for my parents who showed me how to be a strong independant woman. Part of being strong is showing that I have weaknesses and acknowledging them .
Thank you all for your words of wisdom. I had shed a few tears reading them, but not for him, for me. I realize how lucky I am to be out of his influence and that he is out of my life.
