Yeah, i felt that way for 2 years so I understand how you feel. You won't feel that way about "this weekend and what it represents" forever. Remember that.

Valentine's Day is one of my 'trigger' times, also. But, the doorbell just rang with the delivery of a dozen red roses from my son, dil, and grandsons complete with a loving card. Another reminder that the best thing in my life was the result of the marriage that caused so much pain.

Roses may be sweet, but I'm ready to see some dandelions!

Sorry limt that you are feeling that way; I think many people on DS have the same reaction. Do something nice for yourself; that always helps.

Who needs Valentine's Day?

Yes "Lonely Awareness Day" Does suck... But it's also Chinese New Years too.... So we can celebrate that instead!

Valentine's Day was nothing in my marriage, which was actually better than how my birthday was dealt with. Sometimes I look back at my marriage and it seems like maybe we hated each other the whole freaking time, so I got nothing to miss, I guess. Difference between me and him was I never did nothing to harm or hurt him, I just got to where I avoided him as much as possible. I remember back to a few days after his affair got outted and he left the home, he wrote me an e-mail and said the whole 10 years with me was bad, I countered with "even 2 years into the 10 years when you asked me to marry you?" Well, perhaps he was correct, perhaps we really did hate each other for the whole 10 years we were together. Fuck Valentine's Day. Fuck my ex-marriage. I really haven't a clue why I am posting this, certain to regret it an hour from now, maybe I need to dump some negative energy somewhere, sorry, I ahve been so positive and happy and am having a down day for some reason. Fuck it.

It only took 23 years, but I finally don't hate V-day.

I have made some bad decisions to get me to where I am in life right now. And I know v-day is just a commercial day to make us spend money, because when you are in love with someone you dont need a specific day, to either tell them or show them with flowers or a gift. You show them everyday. But now being alone, all tomowrrow does is bring up my feelings about how much Im still in love with my ex, and makes me even more angry at myself for the poor decisions I have made. I lost the best thing thats ever happened to me, and Its all my fault. I will cry at some point during the day tomorrow., as it is I already do almost everyday. Time does not heal all wounds.............

I just know I'm gettin' myself some nice chocolate because I'm worth it :)
