I want to start by saying that this group has helped me and seen me through tough times. I am so thankful. I am still struggling after to many years than I want to admit, but not as bad, Probably struggling because my ex is very controlling and mean and he is still in my head even after all these years reminding me that I am no good. Yes therapy has helped, but it went on for 20 yrs so there is a lot to get over. He has walked away with a better life then me as far as getting a new relationship, and I have none and financially where I am struggling very badly. I just keep thinking that although he was a cheating liar who has no use for his kids, or for anything we had, he has made out better and all that always goes through my head is how unfair it is, thank you for listing that is why I love this group

I am sorry...and it sucks to be left behind and the victim

I do hope for you in time to make a vision of what you want in life now and start working towards that

But Grief takes the time it has to

Connect to friends, groups, community in some way

Rejection from someone so close to a person can have devastating effects. You must respect your departed partner a lot to give such weight to what that person said. Thats what i was doing as well. The with the help of council i realized that the person who rejected me is a horable person who obviously has very poor judgement so why take what that person said to heart at all. They suck a people in reality, displayed when they left and maybe some previous to that so develop some distain and rejection of your own towards them. This helps a lot. The, its not me its you, position. In reality it often is the person leaving that is scum not the person left behind. Why would anybody treat another person that way... where is the love? They are pieces of s**t for leaving you. Life... and people have ups and downs. Thats just the way it is, and a married (committed person supposedly) should expect and aid the other partner through those rough spots, not bail in hope of finding better. It boils down to selfishness. Its modeled all over TV and media to be this way these days. Its, bail at the sign of any trouble or loss you you. What if a person gets sick... do you just leave since it can be a drain. The media says yes. Its "the me generation" at the helm of TV. All spoiled selfish brats who only care about whether they are getting something and don't give anything back. Its no wonder people split up so frequently and over the most disturbing things. They know nothing about commitment and what that really calls for. Their just busy sucking in all kinds of attention. When that is no longer available due to some hick-up like a job loss or heath issue etc, they bail. This is what they are tought to do by media. I remember a time when it was modeled that conflicts and upheavals do happen but that you sit down and work it out. Nobody does that anymore, now its just rejection when things are not going 100% your way, Its a dangerous thing to teach. A lot of people will suffer losses and rejection and no doubt some will commit suicide. I am more of a commit for life type person who doesn't walk away from hard times. I find it impossible to find someone else of the opposite sex like that... Or the same sex for that matter. Everybody is just programmed to leave. I think i'm going to stay single. Most people because of what they were modeled, suck now.
