As i sit here tonight I am so very upset that Thanksgiving is here and I think about all I have been through this year. My husband left and I lost my father within 3 weeks of each other, as well as gained responsibility and care over my sister who is mentally handicapped. Every holiday for the last 17 years has been with my husband, and my family.

I am extremely angry and that is part of this process, But I also think and know in my mind, that even if my husband did want to be with me or came back that there is no forgiveness for what has happened. My chapter with him has closed, and my feelings about what have happened this year and him not being there for me are so unforgiveable I can't stand it. But it is Thankgiving and I am so lonely. I am thankful for my family that is here and that has been there through this process.

I am so angry that he is doing whatever he is doing (which I do not want to know about whatsoever) but cant stand that he does not feel nor has been through what I have been through. I guess I am just venting but wanted to say what I am feeling and hopefully get some feedback regarding it because I am going to lose it this week emotionally.

The holidays are hard for me to for the 3 years since my ex husband kicked me out of my house & moved his girlfriend in but it's getting alittle easier. My boys are my joy and happiness.

So sorry to hear about your story. I lost my dad and 7 year old nephew a few years back, lost my mom in May, and 4 weeks ago my wife decides now is a good time to end our marriage. I am still reeling and nothing ever gets easier. I feel your pain, but I know there's a reason for everything. Better to find out he won't stand by you now, rather than later. I hope you find the happiness you deserve. Hang in there.

Being angry is a sign that you are through the stages of grief....so you are normal:). If you're not in therapy, I recommend it to help process your feelings and see a brighter future. Hugs :)

I can relate.... Im hurt, angry, scared.... I have to put on a good face for my daughter all the while dieing inside.... Im going to try to make the best of Thanksgiving and count my blessings not my sorrows. I hope you can do the same...hugs

I am right there with you. My husband told me he's taking the kids to his dad's for Thanksgiving. He doesn't care that I will be all alone. My friends have invited me to their homes but I'm not even sure if I want to be surrounded by happy families now...

The holidays are definitely a trigger. I can't stand being around everyone and their happiness while my heart is wreaking with pain. Your situation is heart breaking. You are in my thoughts.

Dear SBC1238,

The holidays can be tough especially in the situation you are in. I am sorry to hear about your dad and the loneliness you are facing. One of the things about forgiveness that most don't understand is its not a forgiveness of the action its a forgiveness of the person. It doesn't mean you will be able to trust the person again, until they can prove themselves of being trusted. It means you release the emotion behind what is frustrating you. Forgiveness releases you ... not them ... they still if you want to work things out have to prove themselves to you. I want to let you know you are never alone during this holiday season, it is a time of joyful reflection of positive things. I can relate, too. This was supposed to be our first major holiday together in 5 1/2 years. We were buying a house on 10/23, and he broke it off on 10/24. I, too, lost a parent in March. I lost two major loves this year. I thank God that I have family to spend the day with. Otherwise, I would most likely spend it in bed, alone. You, too, should be thankful that you have family to spend the time with. It won't take away any of the pain you are feeling, but they can be a wonderful distraction! Enjoy the holiday...
