I made this statement in another post and I like the idea behind it. If you think about it the statement is really basic but it is very true.
If your marriage is in trouble, here is the simple truth:
Both people need to decide to stay in the marriage; only one person needs to decide to leave it.
Think of it. If one person is no longer willing to work on a relationship then the relationship is over. One person can't hold it together and it will eventually crumble.
When I started my divorce process I didn't realize this at first. I kept on thinking on what did I do and what do I need to fix. The truth is no matter what I did, I couldn't do anything unless my ex had of wanted to do something as well. This is a comforting though in a way because we, all too often, blame ourselves for the end of the relationship.

That's the perfect and truthful answer, but the layers of emotions compiled upon those relationships, is why we are all here. It's not because we can't see the logic, it's because we can't file the left over emotions.
