This morning I went online and ordered a new copy of an absolutely lifesaving book called "The Script: The 100% Absolutely Predictable Things Men Do When They Cheat." NOTE: While the subtitle is MEN who cheat, I will say that the gender can be changed to WOMEN in most instances.
My old copy has been loaned out so many times since 2005, I now have no idea where it is. So, since it is loaded with information to help a lot of you, I will soon have a new one from which to quote pearls of wisdom.
Written by Elizabeth Landers and Vicky Manzer, had I found this book immediately after my husband "announced his unhappiness" to me (or even immediately after I booted him out of here three weeks later) it would have saved me a whole lot of crazy-making, self-doubt, heartache and legal fees! So...if you are asking yourselves those unanswerable questions: WHY? HOW COULD HE DO THIS? WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?
The Script also offers very sound advice on my favorite soapbox topic: STOP BEING NICE! Any of you who have read my posts know that I tend to scold any of you folks who are "being nice" because you think you will get your ex to give you a better settlement. THIS SIMPLY DOES NOT HAPPEN...or if it does, it is in extremely rare cases.
