Our generation......well I cannot stay in my current marriage and am grateful I have the choice.
Maybe we have been the ''disasterous transition'' generation and our children have learned from the relationship mistakes we may have made.......at least I hope so. I would hate for any of my children to go through this again in their lives.
when a society becomes so rich that people think that they can reinvent the rules, look out, because what are they going to do when the financial bubble bursts.
right now, in the US, the bubble is bursting. and, it will continue to burst for the next 20 years at least.
our jobs are still leaving our shores. our politicians are in the pocket of those corporations that are doing it. the American people had better wake up and get their families tight or they will be in for a very rude awakening as time goes on.
i feel for single mothers right now. i can't imagine how hard this is for them and how hard it will continue to be.
We throw things away now more than ever and move on to something bigger all the time. Some kids grow up thinking it's that way with relationships.
The stuff kids see on tv and other outlets doesn't help either. There aren't many good role models out there and the media unfortunately thrives on scandal.
.I have fleetingly thought that perhaps, since people are living longer, maybe we need 'three marriages"?? One of the 'young and romantic kind'...filled with fun and romance...and few responsibilities. A second one for having and raising kids...and a third one for companionship (and fun) to build on in 'older' age.
Hmmm...
