Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. I want to thank each and every person who took the time to read my messages and especially those that replied with their wonderful comments. In a time when I feel so empty, it sure helps to know I am not alone and am right for having loved. Letting go of her is going to be one of the hardest things I have ever faced.
I am normally a very strong person so I really don't like who I am right now. I am weak and not much of a father to my kids. God knows I am trying but I'm just not there yet. I don't deal with loss very good I guess. I feel diminished as a man and was told so many things during our late afternoon conversation yesterday that really tore my heart out.... and yet I love her! What the hell is wrong with me? I couldn't even think of being with someone else moving forward. I would never want to go through this pain again. I would rather be alone I think....
Please tell me ways to find a little comfort... even if it last only a minute!
Someday maybe I can return the favor to all of you for helping me. In the meantime, I will pray for all of us.

You are a good dad. Your children know that their dad loves them. That is so much more than so many of us had.
Our STBX's don't deserve us. They weren't the ones we were meant to be with. Better times are ahead and we will cherish them..
- reading an engrossing novel (I like spy thrillers myself)
- napping for an hour
- spending an afternoon or evening with friends
- a creative project (photography for me -- spending evenings editing photoshoots with models and clients kept my mind busy)
I'm sure other members have plenty of tricks to share too
People who just leap straight into another relationship to try to fill the gap and mask the feelings are the ones who are displaying weakness. Because they just perpetuate a trail of destruction, either in their own lives or others along the way.
There is nothing wrong with you!! You are just really hurting after a multiple pronged betrayal and abuse of your love - wow cut yourself a little slack - you have been dealt a major blow on several fronts!!
As tough as it is right now, you are doing yourself a service by allowing yourself to really feel everything you are going through. I am sure your kids understand that you are trying and that you are struggling.
Imagine what a lesson it will be to your kids to see you work through all this pain and suffering and come out a stronger person on the other side.
Our kids are a lot more intuitive than we often give them credit for. It is also not always a bad thing for them to see that we are human too and have struggles in life which we have to overcome.
Please just really try to focus on all the good things you have in your life right now. I am sure if you really look at it there are plenty. For one I know you have two beautiful children that you really love, and who I am sure really love you - what better gift than that.
