I think I've done better here than with my therapist. I'm thiking of keeping my therapist because it's a good write off on my taxes.
I actually remember talking to a friend that just separated, and many problems he is facing would have had a much better outcome if he was in DS I think, and understood he was not alone, and learned from others ways to cope. When ppl divorce and try to be better real quick, measuring themselves with coworkers and people that have not run into divorce, they are likely to make some bad mistakes. Not acknowledging your real needs and trying to push yourself harder when you need to slow down can cause irreversible problems in your life. I learned DS is a safe place for me to vent, to share, to learn, and find people I can show my vulnerable side and not be judged. Ah, and I love the hugs...lol

I almost slipped up tonight and told my ex that I'm doing so well because I have this as a support system. But I don't want him to know about it!
On the other hand, there is a commonality that we all share. Be it abuse, neglect, infidility, the list goes on and on...we all can relate. We feel the pain, we understand. You are not alone. Often, we question ourselves...what happened? why didn't I see this coming? Maybe, if I did this, then this would not have happened.
Woulda...Coulda...Shoulda...
The healing process begin with the individual. We owe this to ourselves and that is to take care of us....mentally, physically, spiritually, financially. Handle our business with the x...civil. Yea, I know it will be hard to be civil, but it can be done.
Apply the no contact rule. However, anything pertaining to the kids is an exemption. Learn to cut the line, when the chat is no longer about the kids.
By now, you have discovered that the people here are awesome. They are supportive, funny, smart, critical, wise & I am proud to call them friends. Take Care, friend.
