i dont have anyone to talk to that in depth about things but i know that must help. i do other things to compensate for it. when i do go out with friends or talk to different people when i am out and about, even tho there isnt that same depth, it helps me to know that life goes on and in talking to them it makes me feel lighter.
great tips. thanks for sharing.
Because it was the week of Christmas, he had to wait for the surgery. Then drove the hospital staff crazy, that even the nurses asked how I put up with him. And, for 4 months he couldn't work or walk. He lived in his recliner.
That's when I started walking the dogs - I needed to get away. Somedays, I would take them out 3 times for an hour long walk. 70 lbs lighter now, many neighbors met, new man in my life, reconnected with friends my husband hated, I'm rebuilding my life, one dog walk at a time.
Time heals, and it doesn't hurt that I weigh less than I did when I was married 23 years ago. You will get through this!
And Scottylass you're more than welcome to jump up and sit next to me. I'll be happy to scream with you. Just don't ralph on me :|
They also look forward to their daily walks, and also know the times my male friend comes over, lunch time and after work, and the minute he calls me, they are parked at the door. It's too cute! I feel bad for them the days he calls from an out of town trip, and they can't figure why he isn't showing up. Sometimes I think they like him more than me.
Walking helps a great deal. I lost a lot of weight when my marriage ended. I had energy I had to get out, and walking did it for me. I'm sorry to hear about your sadness. It is something i was familiar with as well. It's been five years since I left my husband, but the feelings are the same. I know you don't feel it right now, but you will be okay. A new chapter is unfolding for you and perhaps it's a good thing. We can only control our own actions. Be well.
When my wife quit wanting to deal with life & unsure about us, I did one thing consistently that has been a huge blessing. I worked on making myself a stronger person - physically & mentally. The latter has taken awhile and it still is a work in progress (it's been 15 months). However, I lost 20 lbs in the first two months and still have kept it off. I haven't been in this good of shape since HS.
Other advice: If you are faithful, find God - he is a good guide for a very tough journey you are on. Either way, find all your friends and family to help you...you cannot ever have too many good friends - just stay away from the ones that hurt you.
