Hello everyone, I've just found this site and am so grateful. I left my hubby in Feb due to unbearable pressure from my inlaws for the last 8 years.. but I always regretted it and asked him to reconcile.

He didn't want the split but rebounded quickly - he's still with her even though we've been talking about reuniting for three months. Tonight he told me by text that he wants a divorce. I'm just devastated and feel lower than I've ever been. It helps just knowing there are people on here who understand x

Pressure from your inlaws? Why were they putting pressure on you? I'm not sure I completely understand.

Getting that text must have been painful considering you wanted to try to put the marriage back together. Did he say why he was talking about reconciling one minute and then wanting a divorce the next? Would he be willing to go to counseling with you to be absolutely sure that this is what he wants?

I am sorry you are going through this. I was being told yes to reconciling for 3 months and then found out he had another woman, he lives with her now (and had been when he was telling me he wanted to try for us, but at that time I was told she had another man). It is devastating when they lie to you. But he was lying, he was just keeping his foot in the door just incase it didn't end up working with her. Or that is what everyone tells me. It doesn't make it easier or help with the pain.

Thanks sleepless1, the pressure from them was in terms of trying to control us. They dominate my hubby and he's not willing to stand up to them.
He didn't explain why he changed his mind, just that he couldn't risk me leaving him again if he wouldn't set them straight. I suggested counselling but he said it's too late x

Thanks copingwith2, oh that sounds so painful - I'm sorry you've had to go through that. It sounds similar to my situation in a way, my hubby was trying to reconcile while still seeing his new girlfriend, it was never going to work out well.
No, it doesn't help with the pain.. I'm sending you strength to get through this.
