He cheated on her several times, got one of his little chippies knocked up, was mentally and emotionally abusive to my mother. So why did she do it? Because that's the kind of person she is. In spite of the abuse she has suffered she is not one to turn her back on someone in need.
There's no shame in being concerned for his welfare. After all, you were married to him. It's only natural to be concerned. Now that some time has passed for me I don't think I could turn my back on STBX should something major happens to him. I don't want to treat him as hatefully as he has treated me. My conscience wouldn't allow it.
Wiggy, from history you already know your STBX is a user and abuser and if you take his call, he will whine to you and his intention will be to try to heap guilt on you and get you to take care of him when he leaves the hospital..So don't set yourself up for the abuse and don't pick up his call. Let him call someone else. He needs to get his own life and depend on his own relatives. Your sympathy has run out for helping him and then he abuses you.
