Hi, I'm new here. My husband of over 20 yrs told me three months ago he was leaving me. We are still living in the same house while we are trying to agree on a settlement. It is complicated by chronic/sometimes terminal illness. I have not been able to work for three years because of my health. My husband has started dating other women. It is so difficult to be stuck on the couch watching tv, watching him get ready for a date. I'm sad because I'm loosing my husband, my family is being broken apart and I'm afraid that by loosing his insurance I may die because my medication is astronomical. But lately I'm just really sad that we let it get to this point. I miss him, I miss us.

Never mind that you don't know why I wonder if asked he could say why either. Certain laws go into effect on divorce and it's never the same in all states. I wish I could say this of that for certain but you need legal advice unless some counseling would help save your marriage. Tough decisions and being ill doesn't help any of it easier. It's probably even more of a health risk being sick already for stress to make it even worse.

I am sorry for your illness and also for you to have
an abandoning Spouse.

That Is awful thing to do, dating while still married
and in the Same house. There have been some on
Here though that was what was happening in the
Marital home while they were in the midst of divorcing
because of the financial situation or the refusal of
one to move out until the divorce was over and all
The decisions made.

Some believe Filing for divorce is an open door policy
on the dating game. You are either married or single
Not both IMHO

My ex moved over to his mothers So he could keep
on with his GF and not miss a beat. He could have
stayed At the marital home while Divorcing but i said
no dating you are still a married man. He got all in a
huff and moved out, TFB.

The insurance issue can be difficult. I took my ex off
After the divorce per company policy he then was
offered cobra. I had kept him on everything and we
changed nothing Until after the decree. He just did
not live with me. He lived at his GF's on the side too
with her two teenagers, HUGS

Take that sadness and turn it into fury. No one has the right to harm you like this. This man is hurting you because he can get away with it. You may not consider yourself a battered woman but you are. Call social services, tell them you are being abused, ask for legal help. Get this bastard the Hell out of your life before he succeeds in killing you. Stand up for yourself, stop whining and start building anew, better life.
