I have to say, looking at your past posts and now here you are today. You should feel very good about the progress you have made.

Where you are now is where I (and many others) do hope to be. To that point where we can realize we may not always have the right words or ability to win over someone who no longer feels the same. But we do still have alot to offer and can still find hope

I don’t always have those days. The process is still a roller coaster. It’s just slowing down. The highs are a long climb with a steep fall. I’m learning to remind myself that the happiness I want is right here with me at all times. All I have to do is dig a little and reach for it. It’s seems so cliche for me to say that. Everything I’ve read and continue to read give the same advice and it’s so hard to take it seriously. How could this person even have a clue as to how my heart feels or what it needs. They couldn’t possibly understand the struggle. If I’m being transparent, I think there’s a window. One that comes with healing. A window that we experience joy or gratification from our pain. We hurt so much and so often that we begin to rely on those emotions to feel anything. For me, it’s always the same thing. I’ll ha e a string of really good days. No heartache in sight, then boom. Reality hits me and I’m lost again. I feel that familiar blanket of loneliness. I crawl around in that bed of pity and drown myself in sorrow. I reminisce. I fantasize about the different linear existences that could have been. I blame myself and her all over again. It’s the last real emotions I have with/of her. It’s all I have left to hold on to. That window is closing. I can tell you, or anyone who reads this. The pain, it will get easier. Even if your at a point where the pain is all you have to hold onto, it will pass. The room will stop spinning. You will catch your breath. You will stop crying. Food will taste better. Music will bring you joy again. Life will come around to you. Why? Because it never stopped. Sending love and positivity to any and all struggling with mental and physical pains.

Seven years ago, I found out accidenttly that he was texting this same old girlfriend, and I told him that if it happened again, it was a deal breaker.
At that time, our children were still living at home so I decided to remain in the marriage. Now we are empty nesters..

That's a good attitude. Just be the best you. Sounds like it's been a challenging getting there. Introspective is very hard but you are working and learning from it.
