My Mum was diagnosed with brain cancer in July and has been given 4 months to live, since then she has now been moved to palliative care and her mind is so sharp and here's what she said to me the other day.......

"It is time for me to go and my job is done, I the most luckiest woman in the world and I love all you kids and you all have turned out so well(I'm the youngest of 7 kids) and I am at peace with myself for the first time in my life....I have made peace with your Dad and know he's now in a good place......and when I died don't cry for me ...but weep on occasion because you miss me"

It humbles me because it reminds my what a powerful impact my Mum and Dad were on my life and now I have been charged with the same responsibility to my children.

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. And also relieved that she's able to offer some gracious gestures of love to you in the end of her life. It sounds like a very special and precious time you're sharing as a family.

Hugs to you TML. I'm sorry you're going to lose her--she sounds like a wonderful woman/mother--but at the same time you've been blessed with her this long. Treasure the special time and yes--pass the good stuff on to your kids.

I believe that someone never really dies as long as you remember them. You should tell this conversation you had with your mother, to your children. And when they are old enough, instruct them to tell it to their children. Your mother's memory can last for generations.

What a strong woman she is. You must love her so much. What she is going through, trivializes what all of us are going through. I hope that when my time comes, I can be as strong as your mom. Take care, and hug and tell her often how much you love and appreciate her being in your life.

((((TML67)))).Many hugs, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your Mum.My wonderful mother was diagnosed with colon cancer, 4 1/2 years ago.She had emergent surgery and cancer was removed.She made peace with God and us, when we thought it might be too late for surgery.Mothers are truly angels walking on earth.It is a very humbling experience.I call her every day and evening now, just to say I love you,Mom.
