I've been lucky in that they don't happen every night. But when I do have a dream with my ex in it, it makes for a much tougher day. I wish I had suggestions. I wouldn't recommend it as a habit, but I've found that things like Tylenol PM and NyQuil get me into a deeper sleep and I dream less. Obviously that's not a nightly solution, but if there's a certain night where you know you need to get solid sleep, I'd consider it.
Sending positive thoughts your way. I hope you have more restful sleep soon.
My roommate moved out and was sleeping in the hall for almost 2 months before moving back in because of em.
I can't help thinking of her while I'm asleep. Most of the times, its sweet memories, but sometimes I just wake up all sweaty and breathless.
I was told that I talk a lot in sleep as well.
Well, I've this under control now so I can tell what worked for me.
At first I just started a few things which worked.
Music is something that you can try. I love heavy metal and a track or 2 from disturbed just make me sleep like a baby. there must be some music for you as well.
Other than that, I started watching comedy shows before sleeping. Any lighthearted show that makes you laugh does the trick.
Then I consulted my doctor, and he told me to cut down my caffeine and alcohol intake. Also, I was instructed to remove anything from my bedroom that might remind me of her.
Well, I've totally stopped coffee, can't live without occasional alcohol though, but these few steps have helped me a lot.
Try some if they suit you. good Luck.
Finally take nothing most nights now
Hugs.
It took me two years flush away those memories.....its all part of the process of healing.
Peace
