After several years of struggle and several months of dealing with the knowledge of harsh reality (generally trying to deny it by planting my head in the sand), I'm beginning steps to separate. The constant drug use and recently discovered (7-8 months ago) affair are what are propelling me. Strike that--the stress, anxiety, and fatigue are propelling me. Even after all this, I can't help but have enough self-doubt in my mind resounding, "But is this enough? Am I giving up too easily?" I don't know.
You need to get yourself in a healthy place in life and worry about your own happiness. I am sorry you have to be here, but glad you found US!
I did go back and read your first post.
I feel you have a wonderful chance of a happy life, even kids if you want them with someone else.
I think you need to work on your self esteem, first though.
I feel you would be miserable if you ever took this guy back. He may be able to convince you with lip service only, which means nothing.
If you want to know his future actions----just look at his past actions.
