Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.

Well a few weeks later he left me. He suffers from depression due to his brother's death 2 years ago. He can't handle thinking about my pain over the abortion on top of the pain from his brother dying. So he left me. He says he can't give me what I need.
I know in my mind that I need someone stronger who will be there for me, but I miss him so much and feel stuck too!! Everyone tells me I'm better off without him and I should move on, but I just feel so lonely without him. Please know you are not alone. I'm sorry you're hurting, but reading your post I felt like I was agreeing with everything you said. I'm 38 and always wanted to be married with a family at this point.
That's why I like writing on this board - we all feel somehow the same, we understand what we all are going through. I know our friends and family come from a place of love and want to see us happy but is easier said than done.
I miss him more than anything and I wish I could just see him.
You'll always get support from DS - I did 4 years ago - it help me a lot.
Stay strong.
Men are much more practical in their decision making. Less emotional connection. Pros and cons, less patient. My wife asks all the time what has happened to my love for her. The simple answer is that it has been trumped by my love for my own children and frankly, my own survival. I have been deeply depressed over the is past year. The family dynamics and realization of tangible expectations unfulfilled has pushed me to my decision to leave and look for something better, healthier. Women hold on TOO long despite the evidence not to and men, often times leave too soon (matter of interpretation) or when they are not happy. Men tend not to linger or tolerate as much in the wake of unhappiness, dissatisfaction. This is a generalization, of course.
We all are looking for happiness and at this time we think that that one person is our happiness even though I do know that happiness is within ourselves.
Good Luck to you!!
Weekends are the worst for me because that's when we spent the most time together. I try to do things with friends, but it's not the same, and I only have a very few single friends here anyway. It hurts knowing he is out there forgetting all about me and no matter what I do, I'm missing him.
KL - it seems you and me are in the same roller coaster ride at this time. I understand you and the weekends - when we first stopped talking Saturday nights were awful cause that was the day we used to spent together and my mind was all over the place thinking about what was he doing and with who!!!!!
Not as bad now but I do miss him like crazy. Everything I do I which I was doing with him. I know he is not seeing anybody else right now and I do text him once in a while which it doesn't help me in anyway.
Same here - all my friends are all married so only a few single friends and when males approach me is to ask me on dates that I don't want - I'm not ready to see anybody and I don't want to rebound.
We are not crazy - all this feelings are normal.
Praying for our inner peace/
Maybe in the beginning when they are try to snare a partner they tried harder???
Maybe as long as they get their own way they are nice, and try a little harder????
I feel that maybe it time to not believe their words anymore, because it is actions that will really tell you if this person cares about you or not.
These men are treating you horribly and I think if someone quit communicating with you or me,
without any reason, or if some jerk even made the threat for you or me to get an abortion (kill his own kid) or he would leave------- I would know this person has few, if any real feelings for me, or especially any future child. I would certainly NOT want this person for my childs father. Real friends would not treat you this way.
It may be tough, but I would never take them back as it would mean certain heart break in the future.
It is so hard now because people have turned into such liars and such con artists and are so good with words.
Anybody can do lip service (telling you they love you)
Please watch their actions in how they are treating you at the present.
Maybe it will help you to want to move on to someone who treats you better, or
just concentrate on making yourself happy.
Also, watch how any potential bf/gf treats other people and how they get along with family.
It took me 25 years of struggle till I learned the hard way, you can't make someone happy, unless they truly want to be. One day I just quit trying, and started living for me. Got a job I loved the job and spent as much time away from home as possible.
Sometimes is kind of hard to tell the scammers from the real people.
