Hi Chris, I I know very much how you feel but I also know for SURE that you can and will make it pass even though it is not easy at all. When you do get to the other side, you will fee so proud and blessed because you will have accomplished what most people may not have the strength to. I keep on trying even though there is way too much negativity in my life, but I just have to look at the positive even though there may not be a lot of it. I also understand how much it hurts regarding children as they are special little humans who are missed by me (Great nieces and nephews) what a weird situation that I will explain at another time; it's just too early in the day for me to do this much writing as I usually come on here after dinner. I'm so glad to find someone on the same time as I and I hope we can be friends and will put in a request. I woke up very sad myself this morning and do most of the time, but I'm still fighting to fix it. I'm sorry for you heavy heart as I feel almost the same way, because it's almost my entire family (brothers, wives, kids, etc.) It's complicated, I did have a very close friend for about two years, but for good reason I had to break it off. I think what we had most in common was our sadness, ages and other things were lacking in our lives. Hope to talk with you soon and be your friend. Gail

Chris, you posted a kind, supportive reply to my post earlier today - thank you for that. You are not alone, we are in this together. I too gave my heart and soul to my wife, even the past 2-3 years when she really didn't "deserve it". About a month before she filed for divorce, I even hand wrote a very long letter to her, detailing how great life could be for our family if we both work on turning things around. Meant nothing to her. If anything, her coldness and contempt this past year will make it easier for me not to miss her all that much, and to know that I fought for us. She did not. The old her from years ago was a truly wonderful person. Life has dealt her some bad cards the past few years (losing family members), but that doesn't excuse her mistreatment of me.
The kids are another story though, even in the best case of 50/50 custody (which she is opposing) I will not see my kids half of my days, And I probably won't even get 50/50. They do not deserve this. The best I can do is make plans for how I can continue to love and be there for them with what time I will get with them, Wishing you peace.

Jay, you summed up how I feel. I was certainly not a perfect husband, but I was worth fighting for.I fought for my ex wife and she said no. I do have 50/50 custody and I miss my girls everyday I'm not with them. They call and text me and write me letters at school. So, remind yourself you may not see them all the time however they are thinking about you. It has been brutal, and when it seems like you have reached the limit you can take it gets worse. However, I am seeing from my kids that there is life ahead of you and good times. My daughters remind me everyday that they love me and that feels amazing. They have gotten me through the hard times with their love as will your children.
