Im tired of holding my head high. I need more!

I have this urge too, I want to get out of the UK altogether and go somewhere hot with my baby and mum, start a new life in Spain or somewhere. Not possible without the consent of the ex. So frustrating!

I think you can do it....just save up your money and when you move out of your mom's house, you can find a place further away. Even if it means the kids may go to different schools, they'll adjust. You need a fresh start!

Yes, I did it! I was also living in a small town, everyone knew everthing and I could not even buy groceries in our town, I had to drive 30 miles to a grocery store to keep the gossips at bay! I did it and my kids loved the "adventure"! Good luck!

Where are you going? I ran away for part of 07. Left the UAE for France in Dec. 06. Then took off for Italy and couldn't find my place. Returned to the UAE to pack my stuff. Came back to the US and joined an ongoing mission trip in Honduras to think... Returned to France to file for divorce, packed some of my belongings and came back in the US in Sept. 07. I ran like hell everywhere I went and the sorrow followed me everywhere. I'm at a better place now, but in the back of my mind I'm still looking for an opportunity to take off and get lost.

I would like a new life. I feel like I am mostly in just survival mode. Just diggin' my way out from under the rubble. Not enuf joy for my taste.

I'm very fortunate I work for a very large company and can transfer pretty much anywhere I want to...so I ran away to God's Country. From the day I made the decision to do it and the day I got here....less than a month!

Leaving on a Jet Plane, don't know if I'll be back again......... I hear that song over and over in my head. I think no matter where you are, your (all of ours) situation will have to be resolved. Dealing with it is painful, but we have to do it. Than your free to go whereever you want to make a fresh start. Do what will make you happy!!

I would love to run!

I have a Daughter though & it would kill me to not see her, although it may be a possibility that the ex. will move away at some point. Don't know exactly how serious an option it is for her but it has been mentioned.
At the moment it feels like my future is hanging & depends so much on what she does. If she does go, i know that there will be nothing to keep me here except an ok job & a house full of memories!

I would be worried that i wouldn't be able to run fast enough from the pain though.

I'd not only like to run away, I'd like to reinvent myself as a new person with a new name and no ties. Unfortunatley (or maybe fortunately) I could never do that to my family, so I will tough it out until I'm in a better place emotionally and spiritually. You're not alone (hug)

I could not leave my little boys life, so as long as the ex is fair and communicative i will resist the urge.
