Today I am missing her so much I'd like to crawl in bed and stay there. I am having such a hard time with my wedding ring and diamond. I took them off yesterday to practice being without them and the sight of my empty hand was so painful. The more I kept my rings off the more painful it became. I decided that was enough practice for today so I put them back on but the pain didn't go away

I feel your pain. My wife took her ring off the day she told me she wanted out (Jan. 9th). I kept mine on until Valentine's Day when she went out and didn't get home until past midnight. It was painful to no longer wear the symbol of our eternal love, but it was more painful to have my ring on when she hasn't worn hers since January 9th.

You do what you feel is most comfortable. I've heard of people who are still wearing their wedding rings even years after their divorce. Hang in there.

I'm right there with you. I can't and won't take mine off. My wife has not worn hers since she told me. She had just gotten it resized about a month ago because she's losing weight, too. I have told her job important the ring is to me and that I would make arrangements to reimburse her if she would agree to give it back instead of pawning. She told me it was too important to her and that she was keeping it for our oldest son to propose with when he is older. She can be so confusing and manages to give me hope and pain in the same messages.

Ahhh, the rings. Yes, it is so painful to take them off (for most of us) I still have mine and on really blue days, I take it out and put it on. I haven't done that in months but I have it hidden so I'm not tempted, but it is in the back of my head. I went Valentines day shopping with my son and daughter and we were looking at jewelry, I said, "Oh I miss wearing my ring" they immediately started asking if I like this ring or that ring, etc. I was able to laugh it off and say, don't you dare buy me a ring.......but it is something I really miss wearing. I have thought about pawning it but it means too much too me. I still have my ring from my 1st marriage but I'm going to give it to my daughter in the future since it was from her dad.

In the beginning I was obsessed with ladies rings and was constantly looking at their ring fingers for some reason, I now think I was comparing myself to them wondering why they were married and I was heading towards divorce.

Its tough taking them off and it's totally your call, one day you'll be ready, even if it is to just tuck them away out of sight. Hugs!
