I suspect that's why he's still pissed about it. He probably thought he could avoid you finding out, but when it came down to it, had to pay you off to get the divorce finished. And it probably still grinds his chaps to this day.
ALWAYS a motive.
sounds like a lot of unfinished business
and even though it took me a long time, I wanted more than anything, for it to be all FINISHED business
only you and he know the answers to this one.
I'm happy things worked for you.
I don't know about redemption for me, except I am still in this life, doing my best to continue to grow as a person professionally and personally. That I continue to try to treat others with respect, maturity without being rolled up and over on in spite of the controversy I have faced before, during and after my relationship with my ex.
He probably thought you would be crushed by it all and wallowing in misery, but you aren't. Good for you for getting on with your life and doing what you want for yourself. Do it for you, and not to get back at him. It sounds as though he has enough guilt and problems of his own he has to deal with, and anyway in a strange roundabout way, just by you being happy getting on with your life it is getting back at him.
I got up. I lost weight and kept it off, I do more with friends, I'm thriving at work, dating, etc. I truly enjoy coming and going as I please, having my own money and rules. It's a breath of fresh air.
The thought of what my X may think really doesn't matter to me at all. As lnog as we both do right by our son, I don't waste my time concerning myself with his personal business any more than he does mine.
