The world is a cruel place. No, I am not depressed but I see human tragities all of the time and I realize how cruel it really is. A lot of us here are complaining about the cards that we have been delt, I am just as guilty, but then you see something that puts everything into prospective.
Last night I worked a death scene. A 43 year old man was sitting on his couch, beside his wife (they have been married a month) eating his dinner, when he started coughing. She told him to stop playing. The guy then went limp and she freaked out. She called 911 and EMS arrived on scene. They did CPR on him but he never responded. He had died right in front of his wife.
I got called to the scene because the death was slightly suspicious. Reason being is that the house REEKED of burnt marijuana (he had been smoking earlier in the day). His wife didn't know what the odor was (I am not sure about that but that is what she said).
I really don't feel bad for the guy. Turns out that he was a minor drug dealer in the area so no big deal. The death turned out to be natural causes (guess you shouldn't smoke marijuana when you have breathing problems and high blood pressure).
The person who I feel bad for was his wife. She took it really hard (I can definately understand why). She watched her new husband breathe his last breath. She got to watch EMS work on him. Not a good scene and I am sure that she will be haunted by this for a long time.
I guess that it is a bad way to look at things but when you guys starting feeling bad about the situation that you are in, realize that other people are probably suffering worse pain and it makes our situations a lot easier to handle.

I'm seeing what Deb, Butterfly, and others in IL, TX, and LA are going through with these hurricanes and bad weather and I know that I'm pretty lucky to live where I do.
I do feel pity for the wife; that's a horrible thing to witness.
My Daddy always uses this one - I felt sorry for myself because I had no shoes until I met a man who had no feet.
if you thru your problems in a basket with others..you'd for sure take your own problems backs and everyone elses seems worse
