Long story short male 25 dates female 21 for a yr and a few months, things get stale she breaks up with him, he's broken wants her back. He knows he has to give them time and space to grow and mature and plans on asking her for a second first date. He plans on asking her but making a book with there story and blank pages at the end insinuating the story isn't finished.....this is the story;
Our story started as innocinitly as it could. Working together in the same building, you filled your heart in the baby room while i was running around drinking milk by the gallon and acting like a child. We would flirt from time to time and you would drop hints that i was to naive to act on. After a long build up i finally worked up the nerve to ask you on a date. We went to the metropolitan museum of art and everything seemed to click. Conversation flowed easily as we worked our way through the building. It wasnt a perfect date by any means, i got in trouble for touching the art, and we got yelled on the train home for having too much fun on the "quiet car". As we got lost in conversation we missed our stop, forcing
us to catch an uber home. As a gentelman i couldnt let you get away with paying for the uber and as the strong willed independent woman you are, there was no way you were taking my money. We kissed goodnight, twice, and i quickly ran to my friends to tell them about this incredible first date.
Our relationship grew quickly. On our second date we ate ribs and pulled pork with no shame. We spent the night in morristown walking through christmas lights holding hands, and the occoasional kiss on the forehead. As we talked in a crowded dunkin donuts i learned about your love for the grinch, and your overall care for the misunderstood. Remember how badly i wanted to help the guy next to us with his math work!
In the year to come we fell in love, developing a bond over children, food, the beach, traveling, and puppies. We were a power couple in everyway measurable. I saw the fireworks in your eyes as you fought for womens rights and general equality in the world, and you supported the nerd in me that only wants to make the world greener, and a little less serious.
Whenever possible we would go on adventures, seeing concerts in philly, eating a pot of crabs in baltimore....even keeping leftovers fresh in the bathtub with hourly trips to the ice machine. All of this capped off with a trip to switzerland and france. Your birthday was special however i felt terrible you werent with your family, but we made the most of it. We ate dinner that comprised of uncooked fish and beef, are you kidding me!! It was so good though. Following the resturaunt we attempted to walk to the eifel tower from the resturaunt, turns out it was way farther than it looked. You were a trooper though rocking those heels as though they were sneakers, you even let me carry you part of the way, i loved every second of it.
When it was time for a break we would retire to the beach. Days were spent laying on the beach letting all of our worries drift away, nights were spent with hoffmans ice cream, movies, and talks about our future. Beach vacations would end with a drive home that started with you optimistically stating "im going to stay awake this time", without fail youd be asleep by the time we hit the parkway. I secretely enjoyed those rides home when you would fall asleep....finally some quiet!....and maybe i felt a sense of peace and happiness that you and i shared.
As seasons changed and weather got colder our traveling slowed and time was spent wrapped in a blanket with poocorn and mulled wine, watching our favorite shows, the 100, parks and rec, grace and frankie, and yes even the office a show we both despised in the beggining.
During winter break we planned our futures in school as well as our careers. You pushed for your masters and landed an internship, i attempted to put the perfect schedule together to jump start my career.
This unfortunately is where our story turns. We spent several weeks without that spark, and quickly grew apart seemingly without reason. Days and nights were spent lonely hoping for a glimpse of what once was. We were going through the motions and needed change.
You broke up with me, "hit by a fucking semi truck" sums it up well(dollar for the swear jar). Its tough to understand but perspectives changed and it needed to happen. We now have spent time apart with minimal communication. No doubt it opened my eyes to some personal problems i didnt realize i was dealing with. This break up has focused me in me in ways that were not possible when we were together. This break up has fostered growth and maturity in my actions, and has given me a clear direction in my chosen path.
I am fully aware that there was a reason for our break up, and that if we were to jump right back into the relationship it would be unhealthy. I do believe that with some changes, time, and care for one another, we could get back to, and be better than we once were.
Remember the beggining of the story, when i waited to long to ask you on a date? i dont want to make that same mistake.
Will you come on a second first date with me and give this story a new beggining?
