All over the local news.... a soldier from the man in my life's unit was killed in action this weekend.

Im incredibly sad and scared. I haven't heard from him in a week. We usually email every day, but when I dont hear anything for days at a time it is because they are in a blackout when all communications are shut down until they can notify family members.

Im sad for this mans family. I know this is the price of war, but its hitting too close to home today. Part of my fear in this is because I have already been personally touched by this war in the past.

Im trying to stay positive. Its tough and I really just want to cry like a little girl right now.

And Im scared.

Send some love to those who fight for our freedom each and every day and please dont take those freedoms for granted. We dont have to agree with war, its cause, etc...

Thank you everyone. I just want so desperately for my phone to ring with him telling me he is ok...or an email..or something. We still have another 9 months to go.... ugh.

I live in a military city and work for a non-profit which supports the military. Most of my neighbors are active duty or retired military since there is both and Army and AF base here and hospitals. I think about and pray for them daily. I'm sorry this hits so close to home for you. (((HUGS)))

It's too bad that it has to hit home personally before people wake up to what is going on over there. Members of the military are getting killed/maimed every single day and no one here really knows or cares......

I pray for our brave men and women every night before I go to sleep, and I will continue to do so. There are no better people in the world than those that make up our military.

Thank you everyone for your kindness. I just got an email from him, THANK GOD. He is doing ok, and well....just earned an extra patch or two to put it nicely. I am sitting here so relieved and crying like a baby all at the same time.

I was happy to hear in his email though that an organization sent them all packages this week. There is some kindness from strangers out there. I give these men and women all the credit in the world for what they do...yes..even including my ex husband.

I cant wait until these next 9 months are over!!
