So I was preparing breakfast about 30 minutes ago. Standard weekend fare: Eggs over easy, sweet potato home fries and whole wheat toast.
I switched from russert to sweet potatoes a couple months ago, and while they're good, something's always been missing.
Anyway, last weekend I picked up an anaheim pepper to spice up my lunchtime salad. While I was cutting up the sweet potato and getting ready to toss it into a pot of boiling water, suddenly it occurred to me that the mild hot of the pepper might contrast nicely with the sweet potato.
So along with onion, bell pepper, garlic, paprika, basil and ground black pepper I added a small amount of minced anaheim pepper. Holy cow, that did it!!! Absolutely fantastic!!! I'm literally bursting at the seems with satisfaction that I've finally stumbled across the missing ingredient!!
Heheh, I'm such a kid!!! Something so simple can really set me off. It's as if the very radiance of the Sun itself is bottled up inside me, and I'm bursting at the seems, compelled to allow it to escape and shine forth! :-)

Passion can have a twist with just a sprinkle of new elements. Either a mix of another spice, a touch, eye contact, and fireworks are set!

I have a huge pepper grinder with all different colour peppercorns in it - black, white, red, green etc. That is my magic maker in my kitchen!
