So... I have been separated for almost a year (the end of next month)... and right after the separation by best friend (who happened to also be going through a divorce and who turned 40 last March at the same time I did) and I impulsively booked a trip to Costa Rica (which we leave for in a couple of weeks).... we convinced a bunch of other fun women to go with us- and I am sure it will be a fantastic trip. However, I am having such guilt over leaving my kids (they will be with my parents), spending the money (well- I already spent the money- I paid for the trip last summer)... just feeling like I was in a very different place when I planned the trip (trying to grab onto something to look forward to in those really dark days early in the separation when I could barely breathe). I am absolutely going to make the most of this and have fun... but have any of you done anything when you were in a not so great place in your life that when you finally came out of it you thought "What was I thinking?".....
