But, I grew up in SE Idaho... so cold is relative. the 15F here is nothing compared to -10 to -40F in ID.
I so miss California... Land of idiots who where down coats when it drops to 50. LOL
The Natives are bundled up in ski parkas! LMAO Although I am a Native, I have been away too long for it to seem too cold here. There are days that I feel chilly but today it just feels good. The sun will be up soon and I will walk, and enjoy the crisp air.
And cold Is relative. It felt a lot colder earlier in the year when it first when down to 45...... I'm used to the cold now.
but the sun is peaking out for the first time in days ...
I knew it was REALLY cold when I woke up this morning because in my old house (built in 1900), the radiator in my bedroom is the last one on the line - furthest from the boiler - so it rarely gets warm. This morning though, that baby had all the coils hot and was chugging away and I could hear the steam hissing and clanging through the house. I love that sound. It's a comfort thing. :-)
My last house was built in the early 1600's. It's fun when you live in a home where heating, electricity, and plumbing were all added as after thoughts. (it was gas heated, single 50's style heater per room)
My new apt was built post WW2... much nicer. It used radiant heat.
Something that is really cool in Germany... Many homes do radiant heat from the floors. Nothing is nicer than getting out of bed and putting your feet onto a nice "warm" floor. (ooohhhh yaaaa)...
I hate winter (my bones told me to say that)!!!
We are to get snow for the next four days- damn when it starts here it never seems to shut off! You gotta love living in the snowbelt. Easier when you are a kid lol - my daughter is heading to the slopes to snowboard.
