I have figured out that when I am outside my very small circle of friends (which I am now because I moved) that I am a bit socially inept. I don't know how to move about in a crowded bar and move into the clicks and talk to new people. I just don't like meeting new people anymore. I guess that I am shy.
Where I am at now it seems like everyone that comes into the bars comes in with a group of friends and hangs out with that group of friends. I know very few people that go to these bars and I usually just hang out with them. If you just hang out with friends you don't meet new people.
Anyone have any tips to help me out?

I don't have any issues meeting new people... I pretty much scream "Pay attention to me"... but I do know people who are shy and that's what they have done.
I talk to new people everyday but when I step away from that roll I tend to melt into the crowd. I don't understand why I do it but it is something that I have always done except when I was in college (that is an entirely different case because I knew everyone and I was really popular due to my craziness). I just don't have that college attitude left in me anymore and I am much more reserved, quiet, and guarded.

LOL>.. I dunno... i was THE epitome of chauvinistic pig when i used to drink... the above routine ALWAYS worked for me.

you're looking at a guy who doesn't have much use for a bar anymore and who only has one friend he hangs out with...
