I woke up with no heat in the house and took my kids and left. Yup, its been one whole year.

I have learned a lot this past year. Some good, some not so good. But what I have learned the most, I learned from you fine folks here at DS.

I have learned from you that no matter what, I matter. I have learned that I should not feel guilty for leaving a man who could not and did not provide for his family. I have learned that my feelings DO matter, and that I am a wonderful human being.

But most of all, I have learned that there are fantastic people out there, just like me, who deserve to be treated better.

The not so good, I will not dwell on or go into. Its about "him" and its not important any more:)

Thank you my friends. I love you all and wish you the best in all you do.

For those of you still suffering, time DOES heal all wounds. Hang in there, and stay strong.

It's been almost a year for me too. (Delayed a bit my his lies, but, like you said, it doesn't matter anymore) And yes, you do rock!!!!

It was a year this weekend for me too! Even though I'm still in the thick of a huge mess, I'm so much better off than I EVER was with him. EVER. And once this is all over, I plan to never have anything to do with him again. If by some miracle he decides to show up at some event for my kids, after I've fainted from shock and picked myself up off the floor, I'll ignore the jerk. :) Yay US!!! We made it!

It won't be a year of divorce for me until June, but I have to say that sometime I am jealous of those whose spouse walked out on them. Mine is still around and I have to see and talk to her many times during the week. The kids have to go back and forth between the houses and I hate it!

Time may heal all wounds, but the one who gave me the wounds is going to be around for all time!

There's no such thing as "it's over" because it continues, just different than before.

Thanks. I'll hit the ONE YEAR mark on Feb 23rd. I too "left", was the one to declare the situation 'toxic'. Life goes on..and eventually it becomes good again. Looking forward to GREAT!
