I know him for almost 5 years... We're married for 2 years. When we first met I fell insanely inlove with him, feelings I never felt in my life. He was the nicest guy ever well so I thought but I didn't really spend enough time with him cause it was long distance for the first year. Anyway I started noticing his temper tantrums and inabilty to be apologetic but despite it all i lived up to the famous words "love is blind" and ignored it all. We had really rough dating years fighting each other all the time but despite everything we loved each other and kept making up. He then decided to propose to me and ofcourse I said yes. 7 months post proposal He kept asking me about a wedding date and I know that's the next step after a proposal but I knew I wasn't ready, maybe it was the many doubts especially after we fought this one time and he slapped me(but that's the first time he was apologetic and even shed tears so ofcourse I forgave him) Fast forward 2 years later we're married and miserable. He doesn't have any goals. I think the fact that I earn more makes him insecure and hence always making it known that I need his approval or permission before anything. I however never make him feel like I earn more. We keep arguing about his family. Our fights are so hectic, calling me names. Swearing at me. Screaming at me at the top of his voice that the whole neighborhood can hear. I'm only 27 and he's 26. I'm really contemplating a divorce.
Do you really want to do this for the next 10-20-30 years? I wouldn't. If you want out, get out now because it won't get any better once children enter the picture.
This relationship sounds like it was defective from the get-go. But I think you know that.
I do want out but I don't know where to even start
This takes two. It’s never easy to make that choice to leave.. No one can do it for you. Make sure you’ve exhausted your efforts before you decide. Remorse after can be brutal. Have you tried counseling? You can buy the book the 5 love languages. It’s an eye opener.
