Me and my boyfriend broke up a few months ago, and it seems like all I can do these days is think about what happened to us and what he might be doing since we have no contact. One of his friends messaged me that he is a mess and ever since I have been obsessing about the situation. I want to look at his facebook that I have him blocked on, but I know this would just set me back further. I have dreams about him still, and these thoughts just don't go away. I know this breakup was for the best, I think i'm just scared of being alone forever.

I have never been alone my entire life. Im just as terrified. but maybe, just maybe I can love myself enough that no man matters! ( that was easier to type than to believe, sounds good though huh?)

I worried about the same thing during my divorce. I have had two relationships in the three years since then. Neither has worked out, but I know that it no longer matters to me about whether I find someone else or not. I know that I will not find that special someone until I am truly happy with myself and when the moment is right, it will happen.

If it doesn't, I have known love and am raising four daughters mostly by myself and their happiness means more to me than anything.

I've now been single since mid aug. You know what? I used to dream a bout the ex, him finding some one and being happy. Now I dream about him begging me to come back and I just push past him. Best. Dreams. Ever! You'll get to that point to. I know I never thought I would.

I know its hard not to think of him. And if you know the break up is for the best then you deserve to find some one that will treat you the way you want to be treated. It will happen one day. No one knows when, but it will happen.

Being alone forever is a choice....

Just as being with another forever is a choice...

Your feelings are completely natural in this situation. You won't be alone forever. These thoughts will lessen and go away one day. In the meantime, try to keep yourself busy to give yourself a distraction. Good luck!

Thanks you soo much for the kind words! I almost didn't wanna go out tonight, but it's time for me to start pushing myself to be happy. Hopefully they dreams and thoughts stop soon.

When I was in my throes of agony, I told my older brother I feared being alone forever. He told me we come into this world alone, and go out alone. It's what we do in between that matters. Trying to be happy with what we have and who we are is the most important thing to me.
