My ex is the master of manipulation. We have not lived together since a week after our second daughter was born. He was cold,unconcerned,cruel, and not supportive when I needed him the most. I told him to leave after he basically left me,my son, and our oldest daughter to deal with my apartment flooding by ourselves. If you have ever had flooding you know how much of a mess that is. He comes home the next morning argumentative. I am at my breaking point by then. I had just been home from having our daughter two days. I was so mentally fragile and not to mention recovering from a c-section. I should not had been lifting much. He went to sleep. Then he woke up and said he was hungry and was going to get something to eat. While my house was a mess, I still had to cook and feed my children and he left and fed himself. So I told him to leave. I am finally at the point where I am moving on, now this is where the manipulation comes in. He flips it. He tells me I am the reason why we are not together,I am breaking up our family,he doesn't deserve how I am treating him. I used to fall it, feel guilty and go back and try to make it right with him. NO MORE!!!!! I am free
I say let him flip it. It's true, you are the reason you're not together...because you care enough about yourself & your children not to be treated like you are worthless. Because you recognize that the way he was acting toward you was not good enough (& I don't know anyone who would disagree based on what you've said). Also, you are brave enough not to fall for his manipulation anymore.
You've already proven you are a strong person based on how you help up during such difficult times. I hope you continue to be able to do the right thing for yourself, even if you have some moments where you feel less sturdy in your choices.
