Your posts have helped me deal with this whole mess I am going through. I feel encouraged and validated when I hear (read) someone's story that is similar to mine. I am sorry for the circumstances that brought you here, but I am glad you are here and I know I am not alone in appreciating your input. Hang in there. You can make it through this. Take care!

I'm so sorry for the pain you have been going through. I try to remind myself to breathe and that while the pain is there now I can get through it. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Sometimes bad things can turn into good things if given enough time.
Hugs to you,
anna
I know that my mind, body and soul have taken such a beating during this whole process. Lost 17 lbs, self esteem is shot to hell and it's the steady rundown feeling like you don't matter in the big picture that just kicks the living crap out of me.
I want to see a doctor next week sometime for a complete checkup. Going thru all the physical and emotional stress of the divorce/separation plus an extremely high pressure time at work has combined to take a big toll. I've also had a stomach ache at times so I can't rule out a stress ulcer either but a doc would be able to find out.
A lady friend of mine is a retired anatomy and biology teacher and told me that my testosterone level could be low which also could be a factor so that is convincing me to seek the medical help. No matter what, it's time to start taking better care of myself.
Another technique that I learned when my brother died is what I call closing the door. When painful thoughts or memories creep into my mind, I literally close the door on those thoughts and redirect my mind elsewhere. I've noticed that anytime I start going over everything in my head it has a very negative affect on me and makes me sad and hurt all over again. I literally picture myself closing the door on these thoughts. Sometimes I have to push really hard and use my whole body to close that door because sometimes those thoughts are like monsters trying their best to come after me. Sounds stupid, I know, but it works for me.
Do you have any hobbies that interest you? The more time I devote to my hobby the less time I spend thinking about him. It helps.
