I'm normally a private person, but I'm not confident that I can deal with this alone. I pray and I lean on my faith alot, but this is difficult. I put on a really great show, but I am sad and heartbroken. The separation was my idea because I have spent too many years in what I feel was a loveless marriage. He didnt accept my kids, and he was emotionally and financially abusive. I'm not going to totally bash him because we do have a little girl together and I want her to have a decent relationship with him. I'm just in need of a listening ear and some advice on how to get through the hard days.

I'm trying to keep communication open because of our daughter...I don't want to talk to him but I want her to be able to. I tried to talk to him this evening and all he wanted to do was try and make me feel bad, especially when I told him that I'm looking for a divorce lawyer. This just lets me know that I'm making the best decision for me and mine.

Hi NewMe73 ... Much like yourself, I will be seperating in the next couple of months as well (Im working on my place to live & fixing it up so I can move in).
I completely understand how you feel. I too have to separate to preserve myself and my child. I know its going to be hard and like you, I kept & Keep thinking that at some point he will Love me? But each time we talk, It just brings it more and more into focus... that its just not there.

Somewhere in the back of my mind (And perhaps yours) we keep hoping that the light bulb will come on and they will realize what they've lost?

But even my pastor warned me, that once I move. That I need to have realistic expectations, that he just might not ever come around. And that truly, truly hurts. Because like you, I keep hoping and wishing for a different outcome... but deep in my heart, Im gearing up for it to "not" come out like I want it to <3 Keep your head up, and just know that you are not Alone

I am currently separated and soon to be divorced. My exwife is an alcoholic who’s behavior was very unpredictable. One day she would verbally attack me, the next day she would throw herself at me. I found that by communicating via text or email left documentation of this behavior and she was much less likely to act crazy. People act differently when they are held accountable for what they say.

I've let him know that I will lock him out of my life...he fails to realize that I don't have to talk to him, period, child or not. I got her a phone so that she can talk to him without involving me. Of course he thinks hes slick but my block game is strong. Once I finally realized that I don't have to deal with him, my stress levels go down considerably.

Im sorry you are going through this difficult situation, 4 years ago I also asked my husband for a separation. During those 3 months even though I was no longer living with my husband I still felt alone and emotionally needy. If you are a believer, lean on God to full fill your emotional needs to get through this situation. Leave any unforgiveness and bitterness behind let it go, place it in God's hands. Take it one step at a time. Please know someone out here is praying for you and your children. Stay focused on God.
