Breakups & Divorce Support Group
Just broke up with someone or in the midst of a difficult divorce? Breaking up is difficult no matter what the circumstances are. They say that time heals all wounds, but sometimes a listening ear or a hug can work wonders for the heart. Whether you need a place to vent, someone to hold you to No Contact, or need advice about what to do, we're here to help.
You can chose to use this opportunity to learn about yourself and the things you want to change about yourself and your life. Figure out what things are important for you (your child, job, emotional well being, outside interests, financial security - whatever) and set goals towards reaching them. Keeping busy and working so that your goals will always be in view will help alleviate some of the pain. I believe one of your priorities should be the therapy sessions.
Oh, and about beating yourself up, the longer you stay in that mind-frame the more "stuck" you become. You can't move forward if you're focused on the wrong things you did, or the "what ifs". I was "stuck" for 2 years, it did me not one bit of good. It just delayed my healing and growth by 2 years.
