Hi everyone. I am new here--I am currently separated from my husband. I have been separated since September. We were married for almost 12 years. I cant say I was shocked but at the time, I wasnt expecting it, if that makes any sense. I have been lurking on here for a while and just replied to a post. I am so sorry that each of you are going through this pain--I know that it is nothing that I wished individuals would go through in their lifetime but when this first happenend, I thought I would die of heartbreak.

However, time slowly has assisted me with moving on. I have to do what is best for me and not worry about my husband. As much as I wished it could work out, I strongly feel that things happen for a reason. This isnt the first time we have separated but it doesnt make it any easier. I just get up every day and try to make the best of it. It is the best I can do, however, I know that is much easier said than done. I look forward to meeting new "friends" and I hope each of you have a Happy New Year :)

what has happened in your marriage to come to the decision of divorce???

Samuel--I think it just came down to that we just grew apart over time. I am coming to terms to that and know that things happen for a reason. This is not something I wanted but I would not want anyone to stay married if they were not happy.

Thanks lb7268--I am sorry for your situation. Regardless of how much time allows us to heal, it still is hard to let go of the person and all the dreams that were supposed to happen. I hope 2017 brings better things for you :)

I think we are here for similar reasons. My husband of 10 years wanted divorce and I have come to accept it now. It is still hard and I have anxiety when I am stressed out with my 2 kids.

Kycatsfan and SkipMcnicoll--thanks for the response to my post. I hope your New Years has started off okay considering the circumstances--but I am choosing to move on and focus on myself because at this point, that is all I can do :)
