You either work through things or divorce, not the self serving, what's easier and more convenient for me bullshit so many seem to pull. The dishonesty, cover ups and blame shifting are rampant.
I would have given my ex-husband a divorce with no problem had he been honest. I wasn't a desperate woman.
He wanted to have his cake and eat it too, and unfair financially.
So we ended up in court for three years.
I "won". Why another woman would want a man who lied to and cheated on his wife of 24 years, I still can't figure out.
Speaks volumes about the both of them.
I have to believe at this point that there's a good reason God/the Universe took him out of my life, even if I can't see it right now.
Clearday, great points. My ex wife of 24 years and I had problems yes, but her solution was cheating and moving in with our daughter's boyfriend's father. This loon had 4 kids with 4 different women and at one time 2 of them were giving birth at the hospital to his kids at the same time. We used to joke about it, but the jokes on me as she's living with him now...oh well they truly deserve each other. According to our daughter she still isn't working, been out of work for over 2 years...ummm no thanks. I had to pay enough of her bills when she worked part time, the fact he has to support her now is A-OK with me :)
As much hurt as all this has caused me, its probably a blessing in disguise.
I chose to ignore some major character defects to have the sense of security I thought I had in that marriage.
If she wants a man whos capable of doing what he did, she can have him and good riddance.
Anywhooos bravo to you for sticking to your guns yea we may hurt & cry & be in pain & we are definitely not perfect but there comes a point when enough is enough. We deserve to be loved and treated with respect.
I would definitely try melatonin to get some sleep.
